Farm-to-Table Dinner at Four Season Farm (6 - 9 pm)

Healthy Acadia is hosting a farm-to-table dinner at Four Season Farm to benefit the Downeast Gleaning Initiative @downeastgleaning. Tickets include a farm tour with the owners and a delicious and locally-sourced four course meal. Please see the attached flier for more details.⁣ ⁣Four Season Farm is a nationally recognized sustainable farm in Harborside, Maine, and is owned and operated by Barbara Damrosch and Eliot Coleman, and managed by his daughter Clara Coleman.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Four Season has been a dedicated and longstanding partner of the gleaning program, where we harvest excess crops (cucumbers and kale this week!) and deliver these nutritious foods to nearby organizations like the Tree of Life Food Pantry, The Magic Food Bus, Simmering Pot, and many others.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Please join us to celebrate this program, this farm, and the many ways that we work together to increase access to healthy food for all!

18-hole, "Swing for Success" Fundraising Event (9 - 3 pm)

18-hole, “Swing for Success” to Benefit Downeast Recovery Support Fund On Saturday, September 14, 2019, the Maine Association of Nurse Anesthetists (MeANA), Rocky Knoll Golf Course, and Healthy Acadia will host the second annual, “Swing for Success,” 18-hole golf tournament fundraiser at Rocky Knoll Golf Course, 94 River Road, Orrington. All registration proceeds from this event will build Healthy Acadia's Downeast Recovery Support Fund, to provide access to resources needed by individuals and their families throughout their recovery journey. Registration for “Swing for Success” is $125 per person, or $400 for a team of four if registering online ($450 at the event). Individuals registering for the tournament will be assigned a team upon arrival. Register online at www.meana.org. The Downeast Recovery Support Fund, assists those in recovery from opioid and other substances with urgent needs, such as emergency housing, transportation, and basics such as clothes, shoes, and food, through a highly-defined and monitored referral and mini-grant process. The Fund will be accessible to Hancock and Washington county community members seeking recovery. On-site registration for “Swing for Success” begins at 9:00am; tee time is at 10:00am. Registration includes the luncheon barbecue, which begins at 12:00pm. Snacks will be available, along with great prizes and cash awards: Sink a hole in one, and you could win a car. Prizes will also be awarded for closest to the pin and longest yard. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. As this is a charitable event supporting addiction recovery, no alcohol will be served. If you cannot attend either event and would like to support the Downeast Recovery Support Fund, please visit www.meana.org or www.healthyacadia.org/donate. Downeast Care Givers Support Group for Caregivers and Ostomates (11 - 1 pm)
